The Secret of staying Young

I made this card for my Best Friend. It was her birthday this last Monday, of course I was late in getting it to her, especially since I waited for this weeks Mojo Monday 219. I hope she has a great Birthday week!

I hope she loves this card as much as I do. If you have read any of my previous blogs you'll notice that this time I didn't have any problems with the sewing machine......I'm not going to say that it was user error, but.....it was the thread. Now that I have some newer thread (more expensive....you get what you pay for) my machine is working  perfect. If Santa does decide to bring me a new one with more patterns, I will pass this one on to my daughter.

Okay, now for the list of scraps that I used; The paper is from "Forever In Time" it is double sided...the pink and the flowers, "Bouquet" Bazzill Basic Paper, and some blue card stock from a pack of Recollections paper. I used my paper distressing tool on almost all of the paper.  I also used buttons that were bought from Michael's.  The stamp is from CTMH "Card Sentiments", which I  used Versa Majic "Purple Hydrangea" chalk ink and then covered it with "Glossy Accents"
Here is a look at the inside of the card.  I didn't use the sewing machine or the Glossy Accents for the inside of this card.

Happy Birthday.

Here is another card I made for another Mojo Monday that I didn't finish in time for that challenge. That week was a crazy week for me....although I can't remember what I did, and I was also having a hard time finding ribbon to match. Good thing Michael's is having sales this month..

I used copics and the Christmas paper from a pack that I purchased from Michael's, The blue/green paper from Stampin Up, the ribbon from "Celebrate it". The stamp is from Stampavie Laurence Collection "X-Mas Puppies".  I used fun flock on the Christmas stockings, I tried to get a close up picture of the fun flock on the Christmas stockings but it is very hard to see.

I want to wish every one a
Merry Christmas
and a
 Happy New Year.

 PLEASE think MADD,

if you are going to drink,

Be Jolly

I tried using non traditional Christmas colors for this weeks Mojo Monday  216.  I think it turned out okay!

I used:
Paper from Kaiser Craft Konstrukt collection, along with purple and green card stock and velum paper that was embossed with the Cuttle Bug snowflake pattern. I also used VersaMark on the snowflake stamp from Inkadinkado on the green mat and on the Be Jolly stamp from my CD collection all using . I also used the Creative Memories circle punches.

Last night I also attended a Ladies Evening of card making at the Church. They supplied all the paper, ribbons, brads, scissors, punches, excetera and a lot of food.  I am already looking forward to next time the Church has another night of card making.  Here are the cards I made while I was there.

This one is my favorite!

It was great to get inspiration from the other Ladies Cards, and finding out that I gave inspiration as well. Thanks to all the Ladies from the Church who made last night a fun night out.
Until next time,
Stacey

Musical Christmas Card

I was really hoping that this weeks Mojo Monday 215 would have a template so that I could make a Christmas card for the music teacher.......and they did. I love they way this card turned out.

Here is a close up of the stamp, colored with copics and highlighted with Gelly Roll Clear Star marker.

I used the Martha Stewart Snow Flake Border and Corner punch, mounting more of the red behind the green and hand cutting around the pattern.  I also used Versa Magic Chalk Ginger Bread ink around the edges

My Supplies:
I used paper from Mambi Sheets Specialty paper pack for the background, red and green card stock for matting, and copics paper. The stamp Ellie Loves Music is from "Your Next Stamp" and the 'Noel" stamp is from my collection in CD cases. For both stamps I used Memento Rich Coco ink.  Copics E00, E02, E33, E47, E37, R35, R37, G03, G05, G07 were used to color little Ellie. I also put on a present from a Recollections Dimensional sticker pack to finish off the corner. Now the only thing I need is an actual gift for the music teacher and I'm set.
Until next time,
Stacey

Filled With Love

I picked paper last week for this weeks Mojo Monday 214, so it didn't take me long. I only had to pick the embellishments to finish this card. I usually spend so much time on picking paper after I see the template that it takes me 2 days to make 1 card, and today it only took me the morning!

I used "Merry Christmas" paper from Best creation Inc, the Green stripped paper from The Lodge Stack Paper pack and "Precious Metal" paper from Recollections paper pack.  I also used the Creative Memories "Custom Cutting System". For the Embellishments I used a Parcel tag that I took apart from Jolee's Boutique stamped with a Stampendous stamp "Family season" with Stampin Up "Ruby Red" ink. I colored a Celebrate it ribbon "Sheer Creations" with copics R39.
For next weeks challenge I hope to incorporate something musical for my daughters music teacher.
Until next time,
Stacey

Happy HollyDays!

I have a question for you all.......
Have you ever seen a Remembrance Day card?
My mom likes to keep in touch with her Dad's (my grandpa's) Army buddy, and she could not find any card to send. I find that very disappointing and was thinking that next year I am going to make some cards to sell and donate the money to the Poppy fund. If any one has any suggestions or ideas, please let me know.  If you want to "steal" my idea....go ahead......just make sure that you are donating any profits in Remembrance of people like my Grandpa, who survived and lived a long any happy life..... for the ones that didn't.....and for the ones who They left behind.
Anyway........Here comes another weekend and I am finally done my Mojo Monday 213 entry. If I keep entering and making new Christmas cards from now until December I will be able to hand out different cards to every one. It has been brought to my attention that I should make a bunch of cards and find a table to rent at a Christmas Bake Bazaar to sell them.  Maybe if I start thinking about that in September I could have enough cards to sell. Here is my card for this weeks Mojo Monday 213 Challenge.

I love this paper from Close to my Heart Jingle paper pack, I also used Recollections Precious Metals card stock to matt, and Velum paper to stamp on. I used several different cutting tools: the Creative Memories Custom Cutting System, of course my paper trimmers and 2 different oval paper punches and scissors to hand cut the flower and leaves. I used stamps from my Christmas stuff, all of them purchased from Michael's. All of my clear stamps are in CD cases some of which I didn't label with the name of the stamp set. Live and learn. I also used Versa Magic chalk ink "Red Magic" and Memento Ink "Bamboo Leaves".
Until Next Time,
Stacey

Fa La La Christmas Card

This card was to be entered into the Mojo Monday competition 212......but life happened, I also got a cold, and....... enough excuses, I didn't get it uploaded in time for the competition, it seems that nothing is working for me this week, including our computer monitor.  That's okay, I love how this card turned out, and a big THANKS is going to a young lady (you know who you are) who came up with the idea of making it look like a wrapped gift.

I have been trying to make sure that I use different materials for the cards that I have been making. on this card card I used Liquid Applique in white for the fluff on the Santa's hats and grey for the mittens, that is very hard to see in the picture. I also of course used my copics markers, (to many colors to list). Memento Ink with an Art Impressions stamp "Jingle Tots", the cricut and cartridge Very Merry Tags, dew drops and brads that I colored with the copics to match, Celebrate It "Holiday" ribbon, "Moose Mountain Paperdoodles" red paper and the blue and snowflake paper are from Creative Memories paper pack "Primary Christmas"

Merry Christmas

I am definitely not ready for Christmas, Halloween isn't even over and I am starting to see Christmas stuff everywhere. So for the Mojo Monday Challenge 211 this week I thought I would try to get into the Christmas spirit.  I am a little disappointed in in some of the "mistakes" on this card but I still love it! Try not to look to close.

All right here is the list of supplies I used; Bo Bunny "Snowy Serenade Concerto" paper, Bazzill Basics "emerald city", "tiara", and a dark grey paper that I didn't have the name for.  I also used the Cricut Expressions Machine with the "Winter Wonderland" and "Lacy Labels" cartridges.  From Michael's I used "Merry Christmas" stamp with Versa Mark and garnet embossing powder and heat set it. Both of the ribbons are from "Celebrate it ribbon", a white ribbon which I used my copics to color black and then used "Smooch Spritz" white to add a little sparkle to it, and "Holiday Ribbon Bow". The button snow flakes are also from "Celebrate it", I used my copics (R39) to color them and used "Smooch Spritz" silver to add a little more sparkle. I also used my sewing machine with burgundy and green thread, this is where you are not supposed to look for my "mistakes". Since we are talking about Christmas, maybe Santa will be generous and bring me a new sewing machine (because mine is not working) with all the bells and whistles!  Oh, and by the way.....my schedule is working....so far.
Until next time,
Stacey

Happy Halloween

I made this card using the Mojo Monday 210 challenge.
I have Halloween on my mind, so I went with that theme.

I have this lovely book of Halloween themed papers that I used, along with Basil papers, scissors, punches, string and versamark with black glitter embossing powder.  I cut out the spider and popped it out on the orange, I know its hard to see that detail.  I attached the orange string to the spider to make it look like the starting of a web and to follow the Mojo template without using a bow.
Now that back to school has passed and my family and I have adjusted back to a routine, I have invited family and friends to join me in my scrapbook studio in my basement on Tuesdays for some "scrap time".  My plan is to make a card for the Mojo challenge, maybe complete a page or two and update my blog by the end of the day. We'll see if I can keep that schedule.
Untill next time,
Stacey

Happy Birthday Grandpa

I made this card in about an hour. That includes the time spent choosing the paper.  Not that I didn't want to spend more time, I just didn't have any. Right now I am suppose to be out the door.....so I'll make this quick. Grandpa loves old cars.....its his birthday......I thought the saying was funny. I found it on the Internet by using google "funny birthday quotes".  The complete quote is "Just remember, once your over the hill you start to pick up speed."  I thought the saying would fit in with the car theme.  I hand cut out the hill (I know you can tell), I used grass, sun, and cloud stamps with versamark, my cricut to cut out the car and the head from the Heritage cartridge, and of course my copics were used to color the car and to give it a little detail.

Happy birthday Grandpa, see you soon!

Sunday 17 July 2011

I don't know where the time goes!  I am not going to make any excuses.......except this happened and then that happened and before I know it summer is almost over.  Well maybe not yet, but I know that its going fast.
I haven't had any time to do any scrap booking at all, so, this is something I did a while ago. I used the cricut to draw this butterfly and then cut it out. It's a bit of a process.  If you are going to use your cricut for this, please remember to make your start point with the marker....so that way when you change back to the blade housing you can be pretty close with the cut line.  I had to try this twice before this one! I am glad I got a picture of this card that I made for my daughters birthday, because we can't find it any where.  I have almost all of my kids cards from birth forward.  I have been slowly putting them into a card album. It's just one more thing that they can look back on.  My daughter will have to clean her room in order to find this one!  I can guarantee the complaint department will hear from her!!

To My Favorite Teacher

I know that I shouldn't be thinking about the end of school, but I love having my kids to my self....I know, I know.....I will be singing a different tune about 1 week after school lets out..... but until then I will get a head start on teacher cards and gifts.  Lets just skip spring and head right into summer.
I am following the Mojo Monday week 190 sketch.

You Rock!

This card was so fun to do.  I followed the template on this weeks Mojo Monday contest 189.  I  hope to enter this card in the contest.  Either way, I love this card....I just hope the Birthday Boy does too.

I think that my favorite thing about this card is the pop out guitar.

I was also going to use guitar string to anchor the star, but it seemed to sharp and I could not fold it and safely adhere it to the card.  I used Gillian Roberts stamp "I'm a Rock Star"; my computer, printer, vellum, and a star font that I found on line; pop dots; Smooch Spritz- silver on the brown and blue stars; Creative Memories- star and star border punches; Paper : Making Memories- Patterned Argyle, The goods American Craft, and card stock- blue, brown.

I started with copics paper and stamped 2 images using black Memento Ink.  I started with the guitar and colored both stamps at the same time so that each looked the same. I then colored the sleeve and the skin.  Now with that done, I cut out the guitar and the sleeve so that I could use the pop dots and make the guitar stand out. I then went back to my coloring. When I was done coloring, I attached pop dots to the back of the guitar and glued the shoulder to the first image.  The pop dots were a little high so I cut them down and used my glue pen to adhere the dots to the first image.
These are the copics that I used;
                                        Guitar- C1, C3, N4, N6
                                        Pants- B24, B26
                                        Skin- E00, E02
                                        Shirt- N6, G3, G5, G7
                                        Hair- E55, E57, E59
                                        Shoes- E57, E59

Beary Butterfly Birthday

I loved making this card for my niece. She just turned 2.

I used the Bazill Basics Paper Evening Surf and Snap Dragon along with a scrap from my paper box; some Robyns' Nest Dew Drops; white ribbon; Versa Mark with the stamps Hero Arts Line & Flower pattern and the butterfly that sort of fit with the Cricut Butterfly that I cut out using the (?) Cartridge; I also used Penny Johnson "Butterfly Bear" and a stamp from "Fairly Sweet" Make a Wish; Martha Stewart border punch; a brad in the center of the flowers, both from Michael's and last but not least, my Copics, sorry I did not write down the colors that I used.  Next time I will try to remember to take a picture of the colors that I use.

Friday 22 April 2011

I must say that making B-day cards for my friends who scrap is very nerve racking.  I try to look at the card through their eyes to see my mistakes...what can I add to bling it up....should I use this or that??????? Oh well, its done now and I think it looks okay.  This card was especially hard because it was going to someone who definitely does not like pink.  So of course every paper combo I looked at had pink somewhere on it. I must like pink, but I will have to try to remember that when I go shopping that not every one else does.

I actually remembered to make a List of the supplies that I used to make this card.  I used the Creative Memories Custom Cutting Circles, butterfly punch, shades of yellow Gold paper; the Cricut and Song Bird Cartridge, cuttlebug; assorted stamps; Stampin Up scalloped border and circle punch; paper from Patchwork Paper, Kaiser Craft, Doodlebug Designs Inc., and assorted paper from my scrap box, and some butterfly ribbon that I got from Michael's.
I hope you have a Happy Easter.

A Birthday Book

Life happens, and I know thats no excuse, but I must say that I have to get used to having this commitment.  I finished the card book for my friends B-Day gift almost two months ago, but its taken me this long to find time to make this post to my blog.  I hope she liked it as much as I do.

This Card Book has pockets for each month of the year. For each month there is a date page that you can make a note of special days. Every month you can then look through (a month or two ahead of time) and make cards for all those special occasions.  In hopes that you will never be late with Birthday cards. I find that most times I do my best work when I'm under pressure. As I stated in an earlier blog, I have a hard time being able to list all of the materials as some if it is scraps from other projects.  Sorry I will try to remember next time

Saturday 26 February 2011

I don't know what was harder.... making my fist creation for my blog or designing a stamp for my creations.  My other excuses for taking so long are..... life happens, birthday party's, sleep overs, the kids off school for the last week.....I am sooooo looking forward to Monday, back to school for them.
I had to look through some of my magazines for inspiration, I also tried to use Mojo Mondays template from last week.  I may be a little late to enter it.  Oh well....my life.  Then I couldn't find the papers that seemed to go together, and I got half way through the project when I remembered that I should be keeping track of the supplies that I used. That will be hard for me, some of the paper and embellishments are from my scrap box and may not have manufacturers info.

I still feel like this is missing something, but for now its done.  Some of the supplies that I used are; the Cricut & Jasmine Cartridge; Creative Memories Pocket Butterfly Punch, circle cutters, Pooh paper; Bazzil Basics Paper; Provocraft paper; a cork board coaster; green colored staples; blue and green thread, and my sewing machine. I also used some scrap box paper.  Tomorrow I'm going to be working on a couple of B-Day things (a gift for Jo and a card for my son) that's a little over do.

Thursday 17 February 2011

I must say, I am so excited to start my own Blog.  It has taken me a while to decide what I was going to use for the name.  I have also been thinking a lot about how much inspiration I have received from other scrap booking blogs.  I can't wait get started. I hope to get a card made just for this exciting occasion.
